Throughout 2026 and 2027, we’re inviting everyone at The Heights into a shared, two-year journey of deeper discipleship to Jesus through three simple practices drawn from Psalm 1.

The Deep Initiative

A two year commitment to three practices that will radically change your life.

1. Learn the Catechism

Why These Practices?

The Deep Initiative is derived from Psalm 1. We want to be the happy man or woman described in this Psalm. The steady tree with deep roots.

How happy is the one who does not

walk in the advice of the wicked

or stand in the pathway with sinners

or sit in the company of mockers!

Psalm 1:1 (CSB)

Advice: Learn the catechism. Reject the advice of the world for the advice of heaven.

Pathway: Read Your Bible. Scripture tells us that God’s word is a “light unto our path” — this is the path that leads to the good life, and we want to walk on it.

Company: Join a Discipleship Space. We want to surround ourselves with those committed to deep discipleship to Jesus.
